Michel Lemay est né le 13 mars 1631 à Chenehutte en Anjou, France. Il était le fils de François et de Marie Gaschet. Il arriva au Canada vers 1653 et s'établit à Trois-Rivières. Ont le trouve parmis les premiers pioniers (1631-1661). En 1655, il reçu une terre sur Ile de St Christophe. Deux ans plus tard, il quita cette terre pour prendre pocession d'une autre au Cap-de-la-Madeleine. C'est alors qu'il épousa Marie Michelle Dutost le 13 juin 1659. il est cru qu'il s'agit du premier mariage célébré sur le Cap. Dix ans plus tard, il est rendu à Batiscan. Il obtenu sa première terre ici le 22 mars 1666 et une seconde le 17 juillet 1669. Michel Lemay est un des premier pionier à s'établir à Batiscan. La peche aux anguilles dans le Saint Laurent près de Lotninière était très profitables. En conséquences, Michel obtenu la première concession dans cette nouvelle seigneurie en 1686. He came to Canada around 1655 and settled in Trois Rivieres. He is listed among the first pioneers (1634-1661). In 1655, he obtained a land concession on the Ile of Saint-Christophe. Two years later, he left this site and took possession of land in Cap-de-la-Madeleine. It is here that he married Marie Michelle Dutost on the 15th of June 1659. It is believed to be the first marriage performed on the Cap. Ten years later, Michel settled in Batiscan. He obtained his first land concession here on March 22nd 1666 and another on July 17th 1667. He is one of the original pioneers of Batiscan.The profitable eel beds of the St Lawrence river near Lotbiniere motivated him to acquire the very first land concession of this new seigneury in 1686. He is considered the first citizen of this community.

She was a direct descendant of Michel Lemay dit Poudrier through his son, Michel who married Catherine Jobin on Apil 22nd 1686.
